Iām committed to continuing my birth education to better serve my clients, be continuously immersed in birth work, and stay informed on the latest evidence-based information. I have additional training in virtual support, cesareans, pregnancy and infant loss, and perinatal mood disorders. I have a certification in prenatal nutrition and offer a nutritional guide, recipes, and meal plans to all clients. I plan to begin my childbirth educator certification in 2024.
Pregnancy Support
During pregnancy, I provide education, support, and a listening ear. Support is 24/7 for the pregnant person and their partner. My collection of books, resources, contacts and referrals are also available. At least two prenatal meetings are scheduled to discuss birth preferences, concerns, and goals.
Labor Support
I am on-call starting at 38 weeks. Once labor starts and I am needed, I provide in-person support during labor, birth, and the initial hours postpartum. During labor, I utilize items in my birth bag to facilitate labor and birth and create a peaceful environment. I provide encouragement and evidence-based information as decisions need to be made, and work with the medical professionals to make sure everyone and their bodies are respected. I aim to create a calm, compassionate, and grounded labor and birth experience.
Post-Partum Support
Typically, I will stay to assist for 1-2 hours after the birth. However, there is no time limit. My goal is always to leave a birth once everyone feels safe. I like to check in with my clients within the first week of birth, and around six weeks postpartum.
I am incredibly passionate about postpartum care and recovery. Physical, emotional, and mental healing are critical to wellbeing. Part of my fee includes providing my clients with a postpartum care basket, catered towards their feeding preferences and birth outcomes.
